Privacy Policy for Aviatool (METAR, TAF)
Effective Date: March 16, 2026
Introduction
Sergiy Shastin ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our") built the Aviatool (METAR, TAF) app as a Free/Ad-Supported application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle your information. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.
Data Collection and Local Processing
Aviatool (METAR, TAF) is designed with your privacy and operational security in mind. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect, store, or transmit any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to our own servers. All core aviation calculations are performed locally on your device.
Third-Party Services and Advertising
While the core app logic works offline, the app uses third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, and advertising. These services may collect data such as your device's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, app configuration, and usage statistics. Specifically, we use:
- Google Play Services: For basic app functionality and distribution.
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: To track usage patterns and log app crashes. We may log non-personal calculation parameters exclusively to identify and fix the cause of mathematical or application errors.
- Google AdMob: To display advertisements within the app. AdMob may use advertising IDs to serve personalized ads.
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK: To gather and manage user consent regarding data privacy regulations (such as GDPR).
For more information, please review the privacy policies of Google (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Firebase (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy).
Device Permissions
The app requires basic internet permissions to fetch advertisements, report crash logs, and manage user consent via the aforementioned third-party SDKs.
Data Security
Since your personal calculation data stays on your device, the security of this information depends on your device's security settings. We rely on standard industry practices provided by Google for the security of third-party SDKs integrated into the app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
